Our dear papa Awuitor,
You who have a heart of gold,
You who call your children "My treasures",
And here you are, taking leave of your body.
The emptiness you leave is so hard to bear.
The yoke of your absence, so heavy to carry.
This sorrow you cause us, so difficult to overcome.
But, without you, we must learn to count.
Through prayer, we shall dry our tears.
At the Father’s side, you will be our arms.
With your courage, your strength and your charm,
You will defend us like a gendarme.
We miss you enormously already.
The upbringing you gave us steeps us continually.
Your memory will live within us eternally.
Papa, we love you profoundly!
