Yesterday I read a story that gave me a great deal to think about. It is a true story, so I would ask you to spare people’s feelings in the comments. Long story short, it is about a beautiful young woman, pious and prayerful. She was pregnant. During her follow-up visits at the hospital, a cancer was discovered in her.
The medical team asked her to terminate her pregnancy. She held firm and delivered the child later on. She would give up her soul later still, and well beyond the doctors' estimates of the time she had left. May her soul rest in peace. The child, for his part, is said to be in "perfect health" according to the text available at this link (https://www.gofundme.com/.../en-lhonneur-de-mlina-et-pour...).
I am passing this information along so that you may also feel free to make a donation. It is good, too, to draw lessons from what others have lived through. No one, man or woman, is sheltered from anything whatsoever. Now, my question looks perfectly simple: If you were a woman, in a relationship or not, and you knew that you were to die before long, would you let your pregnancy go to term and give birth to a child who would have to grow up without his mother ? I will give my own view in a coming post. Thank you in advance for your wise and measured responses!
M.Z.
