My equals are getting married;
My equals have a good job;
My equals are succeeding;
My equals live overseas;
My equals are buying cars;
My equals are building houses;
My equals are happy in their homes;
My equals are forever off on assignment;
My equals have no cause whatsoever for lament;
My equals are this... My equals are that..."
What a pity that you literally forget your equals who are lying in the morgue,
those who are in a psychiatric ward,
those who sleep in the street,
those who are without work,
those who are hungry,
those who are crippled,
those who are blind, mute, deaf,
those who would love to see their parents, their children, alive again,
those to whom life offers not one reason to wear even the faintest smile,
those who would have liked to read this post,
Etc.
You may not be where you would like to be, but you are plainly further along than you were before.
So give thanks to God for everything He is doing in your life.
And believe that the best is yet to come.
Believe in yourself, yes!
But believe also in something greater than yourself: believe in God, who pushes us toward the Best.
M.Z.
